About Us Of Krishna Mandir

Radha Krishna Mandir, also known as Texas Krishna Temple, is the only Hindu Temple in Baytown, Texas. This is the only temple for approximately a 15 mile radius which serves the Hindu community. The Radha Krishna Mandir is the only temple in Texas, and in North America which has a ten-foot Goddess by the name Vanadurga. The temple complex’s name is Shiva Vishnu Temple Complex. Texas Krishna Mandir is presently operating in a place that was formerly a Presbyterian Chruch; a successful Catholic Church which was serving the local community for over sixty years. The Texas Krishna Mandir has done a lot of renovations to the present facility, and many more expansions are yet to come. Those include a cow shed (Go Shala), priest quarters, open meditation ground, waterfall. The Radha Krishna Mandir is managed by a temple board and its members. It is open seven days a week from 9 AM-8 PM. The Texas Krishna Temple is in the process of employing many priests to take care of the spiritual and religious needs of the local Hindu community. Texas Krishna Mandir is conveniently located on a very broad road, Bayway Drive. It is across from the famous El Toro’s Mexican restaurant in Baytown, Texas. The temple serves as prasad idli, dosa, vada, tamarind rice (puli sadham), curd rice (thair sadham), sambar rice, Roti dal and many more items prepared by the Texas Krishna Temple’s pundits/poojaris in a holy way. Radha Krishna Mandir can be easily accessed by I-10 E which merges into Spur 330. There is an exit which is known as Bayway Drive, and then immediately turning right onto Bayway Drive will allow access to the road which the temple is on. Baytown Middle school will be on the right, and the Texas Krishna Mandir will be on the left after a few hundred feet.

The Texas Radha Krishna Mandir is located twenty minutes from Houston Hobby International Airport, and twenty five minutes from downtown Houston. The temple attracts many Hindu households from the famous nearby city of Clear Lake, in which a dense Indian-American population is situated. The Temple’s present President is Paru Siva, who is from South India. She was born to a prominent businessman, S.V. Sivanadiyan Chettiar who has done millions of dollars of charity, and he has supported many Hindu temples in India and U.S.A. throughout his life. He was also the founder of the first finance company in the city of Coimbatore, Tamil nadu in the name of P.L.S.R. Corporation. He was also one of the initial founders of Coimbatore Nagarathar Sangam. He founded the first paper distribution company / trading company in the name of Hariharan & Co. Their hometown is Nachanthupatty which is close to Pudukottai in Tamil nadu, India.

The Radha Krishna temple is open for all Hindus. Please donate charitably to our Radha Krishna Mandir and receive the blessings of Radha, Krishna, and many other Gods in our temple.
